How to shoot HDR Without A Tripod?
When you shoot HDR (high dynamic range) photography you have to keep in mind to keep the camera steady for all the shots (under-exposed, over-exposed and with proper exposure). The best solution of course is to put a camera on a tripod but what to do when you would like to shoot HDR but you don’t have a tripod with you? Is it possible to shoot HDR without a tripod and still end up with good HDR photograph? The short answer is: Yes, but you need to remember about few things to eliminate any camera movement between the shots.
Back from holidays, back to work
It’s been a while I posted something on the blog since last time and I thought I would just give you a quick update what was and what will be going on in my photography life. Let’s start with the past events then, shall we?
I spent 2 weeks in Poland in August visiting my family and friends. Besides taking some snapshots at the countryside and while traveling a bit around, I also had a photo shoot at the Polish seaside. The pictures from this shoot are ready to be published but I think I’ll put the online next week or so.
How to Increase the Frame Rate in Burst & Continuous Modes
Goodbye Aperture 3, Welcome Lightroom 3.
It’s official: I’ve switched over to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3. I know that some of you followed previously my experience with testing Apple’s Aperture 3 when it came out. Unfortunately, the processing speed of RAW files in Aperture 3 became simply unacceptable for me – waiting for 4 minutes for a program to process some adjustments within an image can be painful and a big time-waster as you can imagine.

A Funny Pigeon
I can’t stop smiling when looking at this picture and I keep thinking what was the pigeon thinking when I was taking the picture. The tilted head can mean: 1) What’s up, Doc?; 2) What are you looking at?; or 3) Hey, what camera is it? Isn’t this pigeon a funny fellow?
Scary seagulls
I sometimes try to compose photographs in such a way to make it look dark, mysterious, even scary. But sometimes such decisions are made in the post-production process or both. Birds can create this great scary effect in a picture and not only Hitchcock’s black crows can do that but also white seagulls – this is at least my personal opinion.
When dark clouds take over the sky
This is once again a picture taken in Gdansk, Poland during my winter 2009 holidays but this time a little dark, scary and mysterious.
Swans in Winter, Poland
Another delay with posting new pictures and another apologies. It has to stop soon! I should start posting new pictures on time, few days after they were taken the latest! But I can’t do much about it at the moment as I’m really busy with my day job and with various photography projects and assignments. Probably, I will be even busier if my little dream and goal comes true in the next couple of weeks; but I will tell you about it only when it happens! I can only tell you that I’m really REALLY excited about it.
A lion in a pussycat’s skin
Life itself is a lifelong learning process (and wikipedia doesn’t have all the answers for that anyway
). When you think you have experienced everything and everything happened to you, then surprise happens and that applies to various experiences and people we meet. It’s just a quick thought, not particularly connected to the rest of the post but related to the picture and the title
Where are you going, lady(bug)?
Sit back, close your eyes and imagine a beautiful sunny day, nature, forest, birds singing in the background….
It was hot in the Netherlands!
In case you wonder why I haven’t put anything in the past week- please look at the topic: it was hot! Actually, it was extremely hot in the Netherlands. My thermometer recorded a magic number of 39 Celsius degrees (around 102 Fahrenheit). No wonder my brain went into sudden security shut-off
Delays, traveling and back to work
You’re reading this post when I’m already back in the Netherlands from my holidays in Poland but I write this text waiting for my airplane at the airport. I was hoping they would have free internet access here but, as you can imagine, I’ve been disappointed.
